The literary arts have a strong following in Banff, resulting in a rich collection of readings and presentations throughout the year:
WordFest (mid-October): The Banff-Calgary International Writers
Festival is Alberta’s hottest literary event and the third-largest festival of
its kind in Canada.
Reading Series (May - August): This is a wonderfully diverse series of presentations by leading authors, journalists, and others as part of the Banff Summer Arts Festival.
Banff Mountain Book Festival (end of October): Mountain stories, legends, and
adventures are brought to life during the Book Festival portion of the Banff Mountain Festival.
Banff Public Library (year-round): throughout each year, the Banff Public Library hosts author readings. See the Banff Public Library Web site for the latest scheduled events.
