Project Description:
The Town of Banff Community Art Committee is pleased to invite artists from across Canada to participate in a dynamic, rotating art exhibition. Proposals are being accepted for 2D artworks to be digitally produced and installed within Banff town site. Images of artwork in all media and styles will be accepted for consideration – painting, photography, text-based, conceptual, representational, etc.The exhibition will involve three artworks printed on weather-resistant vinyl and mounted to an 8' x 10' panel publically located on the rear wall of Banff Town Hall. The exhibition will run for an 18-month period during which the individual artworks are to be displayed successively for 6 months. Upon completion of the exhibition a smaller, poster-sized reproduction of the selected artworks will be retained as part of the Town of Banff's permanent art collection.
Eligibility:
This call is open to all professional emerging, mid-career, or established Canadian artists possessing a demonstrated capacity for working effectively with municipal project teams and adhering to project timelines. Artists shall represent the following regions of Canada: Local (Banff), Provincial (Alberta), and National (Canada) – one artwork will be selected from each region. The deadline for completed proposals will be in November, 2011.
