There are several different opportunities throughout each year to take in vibrant theatre productions in Banff.

Drama

The Banff Players, a community-based theatre group, present major dramatic works on the stages of The Banff Centre. See The Banff Centre Events Calendar for information.

Parks Canada's Mountain W.I.T. theatre troupe presents interpretive, historically-based, entertaining theatre productions throughout the year. These are designed for families.

Opera

Each summer, a major opera is staged as part of the Banff Summer Arts Festival. Past operas have ranged from state-of-the-art contemporary works to traditional favourites. Produced in conjunction with The Banff Centre's stage craft programs, these productions are professional and unforgettable.

Eco-Theatre

Banff is the proud home of one of Canada's original eco-theatre troupes, Precipice Theatre. Precipice productions are often aimed at children. They offer strong environmental and social messages, presented with humour and originality.
