Banff Culture Weekend celebrates Banff’s rich cultural heritage. It is a once-a-year event that showcases Banff’s unique connection with history, culture, and the arts.
On Saturday, Culture Walk guides you to art galleries, museums and historic sites that come alive with activities celebrating Banff's cultural heritage. As you walk from site to site, following the guide map and colourful balloons, you'll be treated to live entertainment, interpretive tours, and artists’ demonstrations.
At dusk on Saturday night, join us in Central Park for a free outdoor movie Under the Stars. The film stars Marilyn Monroe and was shot in and around Banff National Park. Bring a lawn chair and a blanket and take a nostalgic look at 1950s Banff.
On Sunday, Doors Open Banff invites you to explore more than 20 heritage buildings that open their doors for a rare glimpse into the architecture, people and places of Banff.
Banff Culture Weekend is open to everyone and most events are free. A complete schedule is available online at www.banffculturewalk.com. Explore Banff on foot or by bike. With a brochure in hand, catch a free ride on the Banff Public Transit. Brochures will be available at the Banff Visitor Information Centre, Banff Town Hall, and the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. An information table will also be set up at Bison Courtyard (211 Bear Street) on both days of Banff Culture Weekend. Banff Culture Weekend is a heritage tourism event hosted by Banff Heritage Tourism, Banff Heritage Corporation, Banff Culture Walk partners and Doors Open Alberta.
