Be a Canada Day Volunteer!

The Town of Banff is looking for individuals interested in being a part of the committee to plan and implement this year's Canada Day festivities at Central Park. We are looking for people willing to share their enthusiasm, time and talent to plan a full slate of activities and entertainment for July 1, 2008. 

Areas of need for the planning team:

• Activity Programming (coordination of face painting, crafts, games, etc)
• Entertainment Programming (coordination of performers)
• Hospitality (coordination of food services for volunteers, performers and VIP's)
• Volunteer Coordination (coordination of event day volunteers)
• Food Services (coordination of food services for the public)
• Parade Coordination (coordination of bands, entries, permits, volunteers, etc)
• Information and Public Services (coordination of on-site information services and other services such as First-Aid etc.)

As a member of the planning team you will:

• get to meet new and interesting people
• enhance your special event planning skills
• play a part in promoting community spirit
• add a new highlight to your resume
• receive tangible recognition

Time Commitment

Anticipate 2 - 5 hours per month in committee meetings plus additional time to complete the tasks identified in meetings.

The committee begins meeting in March.  June is the busiest time for most areas with increased demands leading up to the event. Of course, although it is not necessary, we would like you to also be on site on July 1 to see the plans come to fruition.
