Building Permits
Building inspection services help to protect public health and safety by ensuring that buildings are designed and constructed in accordance with the Alberta Building Code and Safety Codes Act. While the Town of Banff issues building permits, other permits involving plumbing, gas and electrical inspections are the responsibility of the builder.Like many Alberta municipalities, Banff operates on a two-permit system. In most cases, both a Development Permit and Building Permit are required. In some cases, a Building Permit may be required even though a Development Permit is not required. To confirm whether or not your project requires a building permit, please contact the Building Inspector at 403.762.1215.
