Banff Land Use Bylaw
The Banff Land Use Bylaw controls the use of all land within the Town of Banff.You can view the full text of the Banff Land Use Bylaw by downloading the documents below. Most development proposals will involve review of sections 8 and 12, as well as the Banff Design Guidelines (Schedule B). Of course, other sections of the bylaw may be applicable, depending on the project.

The Banff Land Use Bylaw divides the town into a series of land use districts (see the Land Use District Map above). The bylaw also sets out:
- permitted and discretionary uses of each land use district
- development regulations for things like density, site coverage, height, setbacks, parking, and landscaping, environmental and architectural design standards.
- procedures for processing, deciding and appealing development permits; and
- procedures for processing and deciding on amendments to the Land Use Bylaw, such as re-designation or rezoning.
