One of the areas where the review team would like to improve the internal processing of sign permits include adding clarity to the existing sign regulations and increasing the approval time for certain types of signs.
Currently the signage regulations in the Land Use Bylaw use a combination of text and tables to illustrate what types of signs are permitted. The review team would like to enhance the existing sign section of the Land Use Bylaw through graphics. The goal of this would be to improve clarity which would hopefully lead to a greater level of compliance and a coordinated approach to signage throughout Town. The review team would also like to see a more rapid approval process for signs which are part of a comprehensive sign plan. While this would not require a change in the Land Use Bylaw, it reflects the Planning department’s desire to facilitate the speedier review of sign permits. << Previous Topic: Reducing Banff Avenue ClutterNext Topic: A Return to Traditional Awnings >>
