The Indexperience surveys of Banff’s visitors reveals that visitors are generally happy with the cleanliness of the community. In order to protect this impression, resources need to be allocated towards maintaining our strong level of service, specifically in our commercial land use districts.
The expansion of operating hours by downtown businesses, particularly in the food and beverage sector, has resulted in increased requirements for waste management including more waste receptacles and / or shifting collection times.
The review team is proposing that businesses that elect to operate on a 24-hour or late night basis ensure that they are addressing the waste requirements of their customers. The Land Use Bylaw review team is recommending:
