Participants of all ages and levels of experience are invited to sketch and draw during Banff Centre’s free ongoing beginner-level drawing class: Drawn to Nature. Join esteemed Teaching Artist in Residence Janice Tanton and explore different drawing and mark-making techniques using various materials and supplies in this facilitated class. All classes encourage artistic exploration and conversation about the ways in which we interact with the cultural and geological landscapes of Banff National Park.

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation practice during which students are comfortably laying down and guided through meditation that is meant to rejuvenate the nervous system and turn negative thoughts into positive ones. The Basement is a new youth drop-in centre below the Banff Canmore Community Foundation. It’s a space where youth can hang out, play games, do homework, work on art projects, create music, or just socialize. There are board games, foosball, shuffleboard, instruments, books, WiFi and a popcorn machine. There will be weekly activities – rock climbing, skateboarding, bowling and more. Healthy snacks available daily. This program is generously supported by the Pauw Foundation. For Grades 7-10.

The Sally Borden Building at the Banff Centre is home to a 25-metre pool, hot tub, wading pool and steam room. Lifejackets are provided at no charge. You can rent towels, purchase swim diapers and other aquatic accessories. Public swimming is supported in part by the Town of Banff. Pool schedules are subject to change.
