On your weather page... what does "Civil Twilight" mean?
This is a term used by meteorologists to give a precise definition to the dividing line between day and night: "defined to begin in the morning, and to end in the evening when the center of the Sun is geometrically 6 degrees below the horizon." The idea is that this is a more useful measure of daylight hours, because it marks the point at which illumination is sufficient to distinguish terrestrial objects clearly; the traditional definition of "Sunrise" and "Sunset" ("the times when the upper edge of the disk of the Sun is on the horizon") is less meaningful. Can I put your weather information on my web site?
Yes. You can use the same weather "tile" that you see on our Banff.ca homepage. It's updated to show current conditions every hour, 24 hours a day. All you have to do is link to an image on our server using HTML code we will give you. You have to include a link from the image to our detailed weather page (part of the code we supply), so your site visitors can get the extended forecast and other info. Please use the Feedback Form (select "Website" as the subject) to request code for use on your website.
Why isn't my business listed somewhere on Banff.ca?
It's probably an oversight. We have tried to include everyone who belongs, one way or another. Please use the Feedback Form (select "Website" as the subject) to request a listing, and suggest a page where you think your business belongs.
What's all this about "Peace Officer Out"?
You've probably been hearing about the Town of Banff's stalwart bylaw enforcement veteran, Peace Officer Tony Clark, and his legendary cameo appearance in our January 2008 recruiting video.
