2018 Community Assessment
Community AssessmentPhase 3 – What we Heard
We heard from more than 700 Banff residents who participated in community conversations this summer to identify what makes Banff great and what we can do better as a community.

The input will help guide future planning, programs and activities within the Town of Banff and other community partners.

We analyzed thousands of comments and grouped common ideas into themes. Elements in one theme often overlap with other themes. Any concerns or suggestions that are outside the Town of Banff’s responsibility will be shared with relevant organizations.

Next steps
  • In early November, over 200 people helped prioritize themes and actions through surveys and pop-up engagement boards.
  • Community Development staff will Prepare a comprehensive report on the priorities, recommended strategies and the inventory of all comments we received. Including statistics from the federal census and local organizations to build a full picture of the community.
  • The report will be published online and presented to Banff Town Council for review.
  • Once approved, the Community Assessment Report and the accompanying Community Services Strategic Work Plan will guide the activities over the next five years for the Town, agencies and partners.
  • Presentations to community audiences.
