Community Measures
Community Measures
Community Measures tracks the progress and measures the community’s success in achieving the Banff Community Plan. The plan identified a number of indicators which the Town has been tracking since adoption of the community plan in 2009. In its sixth year, the Community Measures program begins to show trends as we chart year over year from 2009 to 2015.

Visitor Adjusted Population
Many municipal and community services are impacted heavily by the visiting population of more than 3.8 million annually. Community Measures uses a visitor adjusted population in some indicators to reflect a more accurate performance. We derive this statistic by taking the permanent population as provided by the latest municipal census, adding a percentage of the annual gate count to represent the number of day and overnight visitors to Town, and divide by days in a year. You'll find the the visitor adjusted population in Population and Visitation chart.

The Town of Banff communications department compiles the indicator information and prepares the report. For further information contact Communications at 403.762.1207
