Public Skating Safety Guidelines
  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • Helmets are highly recommended for all skaters and are required for all children under the age of 12 years.
  • Please refrain from carrying children by any means (e.g. sitting on shoulders, being carried in arms or equipment such as "Snugglies" or in back packs) while on the ice.
  • No games are to be played at any time that will endanger the safety and/or enjoyment of others. This includes hockey games, or the use of hockey sticks and pucks.
  • Avoid excessively fast skating and stopping (socializing), which could interfere with traffic flow.
  • Wheelchairs, wheelchair skates and sledges are welcome. Individuals using these devices must travel in the same direction as the other skaters. Attendants/helpers are welcome to assist individuals, however they must wear skates.
  • No shoes allowed on the ice surface unless assistance is being provided to help tots to skate.
  • Figure skating is permitted at designated times and at the discretion of the facility staff.
  • Patrons may not sit on the rink boards at any time.
  • Food and beverage consumption is permitted in the Concourse and spectator seating areas only. Alcohol consumption or intoxication will result in expulsion from the Fenlands.
