Recreation and Parks MonthRecreation and Parks month is a fun and exciting way to celebrate all of the activities you love to do with your family and friends. 

Join us on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the rec grounds for a BBQ and fun activities to celebrate our parks and recreation.

Family Yoga in the Park 9 – 9:45 a.m. 
Drawing in Nature 14+ 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (registration required)
Try Skateboarding 6+ 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (registration required
Story Time in the Park 10 – 11:30 a.m.
Basketball & other games 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  
Meditation 10:30 – 11 a.m. 
Parks Canada's Mountain Wit 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Bow Valley Cruisers 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Free BBQ for all participants 11:30 a.m – 2 p.m. 
Into the Wild Family Nature Play 12:30 – 2 p.m.
Indigenous Drumming and Dancing 12:30 – 1 p.m.
Celebrate the opening of the new community greenhouse and the playground by the ball diamonds 1 – 1:30 p.m.
Art in the Park with Mindy 1 – 2 p.m. (registration required)
Try Biking for beginners 2 – 4 p.m. (registration required)
Drawing in Nature Family 3 – 4 p.m. (registration required)

Voyager Canoe Paddle 6 – 7 p.m. Banff Canoe Clue (registration required)
Evening Yoga Session 7 – 8 p.m. Tunnel Mountain Reservoir (registration required)


Family Wildlife Safety 
Bring the whole family to The Fenlands and join the Town of Banff and Parks Canada for a morning of wildlife safety education. The kids can play in the Family Fun Zone and parents can enjoy a cup of coffee while Parks Canada staff offer some tips and tricks on best practices for residents to peacefully co-exist with wildlife in and around the town site.
