Residential Rebates and Incentives
The Town of Banff is currently offering local residents up to $50,000 in rebates and incentives to encourage them to improve the environmental efficiency of their homes and residential properties in the following areas:Water Use Reduction
Several approaches can help you easily reduce the amount of water being used at your home or property. These practices will contribute to an overall lowering of your utility bills each year, a reduction of the amount of water being drawn from local ground water sources, and a reduction of the volume of water treated at Banff's Waste Water Treatment Plant which is eventually discharged into the Bow River environment.Rebates and incentives now available that can contribute to water usage reductions include:
- Dual-flush Toilet Replacement - $100 post-purchase rebate
- High-efficiency (Energy Star) Dishwasher Replacement - $100 post-purchase rebate
- Rain Barrels - $25 post-purchase rebate
Home Energy Use Reduction
There are also several innovative technologies available today that can help you reduce the amount of energy used at your home or property or assess the existing energy-efficiency issues of the property in order to plan for future upgrades. The Town of Banff is encouraging everyone to take advantage of these practices so as to contribute to an overall lowering of your electrical and gas bills each year, a reduction of the amount of energy used in Banff, and a reduction of the volumn of greenhouse gases emitted into the environment directly or indirectly by our community.Rebates and incentives now available that can contribute to energy use reductions include:
- High-efficiency (Energy Star) Full-sized Refrigerators - $200 post-purchase rebate
- Window and Door (Energy Star certified for at least Climate Zone B) Replacement Rebate - $50 post-purchase
- Certified Solar Hot Water System Rebate - $650 post-purchase rebate
