Programs for Low Income Residents
Low Income Transit Pass
This service provides a free transit pass to the following individuals:
- Individuals living under the most recently published Low Income Cut off Level (LICO)
- All recipients of the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program
- Seniors, eligible to receive the Alberta Seniors cash benefit
Individuals must register for the program on an semi-annual basis, providing proof of income and residency (6 months minimum) at Community Services.
Taxi Pass Program
Low income individuals who are 55 years of age or older, have a disability or who are temporarily injured are eligible for a taxi pass to provide transportation to medical appointments.
Banff Canmore Community Bus
The Banff-Canmore Community Bus program uses the empty school buses returning from Banff and Canmore as a way to provide a low cost transportation option between the two communities. This is a partnership initiative between the Town of Banff FCSS, Town of Canmore FCSS, and the Canadian Rockies Public Schools.
