Outdoor and wildlife photographer John E Marriott

One of the main reasons why Banff's Roam hybrid buses are so eye-catching, attractive and just plain fun, is the superb mountain wildlife imagery that brightens their exteriors.
All of the photography for the Roam bus fleet is by renowned local photographer John E. Marriott.

John's career as an outdoor photographer began in 1992, when Parks Canada in Banff National Park hired him to go out and shoot roll after roll of photos of people, wildlife and scenics in the mountain environment.
In the mid to late 1990s, John Marriott photographed extensively in the frontcountry and backcountry of parks in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta and British Columbia.
In the past decade, John's photography has taken him to more exotic locations: he has travelled from the highlands of Scotland to the spectacular environs of the Yukon and Alaska. He has sailed the Queen Charlotte Islands, traipsed the Yellowstone backcountry, ridden a packtrain through the Muskwa Kechika wilderness in northern British Columbia, and rolled across the arctic tundra in a polar bear buggy in Churchill, Manitoba.
John Marriott's images have been published worldwide in a number of newspapers and magazines, including
National Geographic Adventure
,
Maclean's
,
Backpacker
,
Canadian Geographic
,
Reader's Digest
,
Ranger Rick
and
OWL
.
In 2007, John released his first hardcover coffee table book,
Banff & Lake Louise: Images of Banff National Park
, which was received with critical acclaim and has quickly become the best-selling photography book on Banff and is a Canadian bestseller. In 2008, John released his second coffee table book,
Wildlife of the Canadian Rockies: A Glimpse at Life on the Wild Side
.
