Grizzly Bear Family by John E. Marriott
Photo: © John E. Marriott, wildernessprints.com
"The first grizzly bears I ever saw were in Banff on the Bow Valley Parkway. I remember shaking with excitement as I fumbled with my old Pentax camera, trying desperately to get a picture before they ran away.
"I never did get any photos that day, but encounters like that have led to a deep fascination with Rocky Mountain wildlife.
"I'm now a professional wildlife photographer, so I spend many of my days out in the park looking for animals. The only thing that's changed is my camera gear - this photo of a grizzly family was taken with an 18x telephoto zoom lens, more than twice the power of binoculars!"
