Townsite Loop Route

• Lower loop: 5.4 km, 20 m elevation gain (1.5 hrs)
• Upper loop: 8.4 km, 104 m elevation gain (2.5 hrs)

Follow this combination of trails and roadsides for a complete circle around the townsite.

The lower loop is flat, easy walking and suitable for wheelchair-assisted travel.

The upper loop section along Tunnel Mountain Drive (not suitable for wheelchairs) provides spectacular views of Banff and the Bow Valley and can connect with the Hoodoos Trail to make an even longer loop.

Tunnel Mountain Drive is closed to vehicles in the winter.

• Parking lot at Central Park
• Streetside parking, where permitted along the loop
