Summer Skateboard Lessons

Our 2008 spring and fall lessons were a huge success, thanks to all our sponsers and all the participants.  See you in the spring of 2009.

4-day beginner and intermediate lessons
From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $55

For children ages 6 to 15 years of age.
Beginner lessons will show the participant the basic ins and outs of skateboarding.  Individuals will work on basic mobility and ramp usage as well as proper etiquette.  The intermediate lessons will introduce the participant to ramp usage, ollies, kick flips, basic rails and proper etiquette.  Particpants must have their own board and helmet.  Protective gear is recommended.

Located at the Banff Recreation Centre on Norquay Road.  Call 762-1251 to register or for more information.

Participants should be able to stand confidently on their board while it's rolling and have their own equipment. Instruction will cover everything from basic terms for skateboarding and it’s equipment to pushing, moving and carving on the board - and depending on the skill level, you may learn to drop in on the mini ramp or even to Ollie.

Location: Banff Skatepark at the Banff Recreation Centre on Norquay Road

Please bring:

• Skateboard (or arrange to rent one with the Skatepark staff)
• Helmet (or arrange to rent one with the Skatepark staff)
• Knee pads & elbow pads – not mandatory, but strongly recommended
• Water bottle
• Snack
