Collaboration & Assessment
Interagency Meetings
Community Development facilitates the collaboration of Banff agencies through a number of meeting opportunities: - the Banff Action Group meets 3 times a year to proactively look at opportunities, issues, gaps and partnerships in Banff
- the Bow Valley Interagency meets monthly for information sharing and speaker presentations, meetings alternate between Banff and Canmore
- the Bow Valley Housing Subgroup meets 2 times a year to share in information about housing issues between social and housing agencies
Community Social Assessment
The assessment aims to create a “big” picture of current social well-being and vitality in our community - the issues and challenges, along with the strengths, ideas and opportunities. This assessment becomes the base for future community social planning, action, advocacy and evaluation.- Community Social Assessment 2006 (

Temporary Foreign Worker Research
In 2008 it came to the attention of the Banff Action Group (BAG) that agencies were seeing an increase in use of their services by temporary foreign workers from different countries than usual. Information was collected to check that the support that agencies provided was meeting the needs of this population, and whether information of support services needed to be provided any differently. This research was presented at the February 2009 BAG meeting.- Temporary Foreign Worker Research February 2009 (
