Construction & Demolition
Banff residents and commercial contractors working in the town are required to take dry construction waste generated from building or renovation work to the Francis Cooke Regional Class III landfill for disposal or diversion. Whether your construction project is a minor interior improvement or major building construction you are required to sort construction waste on-site as necessary.
The Construction Waste Management policy emerged though a partnership between the Town of Banff, Town of Canmore, MD of Bighorn, and the Bow Valley Waste Commission and has created financial incentives for landfill users to properly divert re-usable waste materials. The overarching goal is to prolong the lifespan of our only available regional landfill! For more information and tips on how to setup your work site and achieve success, please consult
