Wayfinding Project
Many of the signs we have in Banff are outdated, inadequate, or poorly placed. We want to replace them with wayfinding tools that help all our visitors easily find their destinations, whether they are driving or walking.
Entro Communications, a world leader in environmental design, has provided us with an innovative new design based on the shapes and forms of mountains, trees and stones.
Fabrication and installation of the new signs is scheduled for 2010 through 2013. Over the next four years you will see:
84 vehicular directional signs, in various sizes
10 parking identification signs
33 pedestrian directional signs
5 pedestrian kiosks
A fifth year will added as funding becomes available. Projects scheduled for the fifth year are:
District identification signs and banners
Town entrance signs
