Town Council seeks community input on Banff refreshing cost and timing optionsDec. 14, 2006, Banff, AB
The Town of Banff received the project scenarios and cost estimates for Banff refreshing from Standard General, the contractor chosen to replace the infrastructure and streetscape on the 100 and 200 blocks of Banff Avenue. Costs for the project range from $21.8 million to $25.67 million and include options to take construction through the summer months, completing the project in 15 months or lengthening the project construction over three to four years, which would substantially increase the costs by an additional $3.9 million, but minimize the project’s impact during the busy summer months.
Banff trials new LED Christmas Lights

Today, the Town of Banff announced that downtown Banff will be a lot more festive this holiday season. The Town is trialing new LED lighted motifs hanging from the streetlight poles on the 100 and 200 blocks of Banff Avenue and at the north entry to town. They are also working with the Hotel/Motel Association on an initiative to light trees along the median of Banff Avenue.

Banff adds over $500 million to municipal, provincial, federal government revenue

Today, the Town of Banff released an Economic Impact Study that shows that Banff contributes approximately $500 million to federal, provincial and municipal governments annually. These monies are the result of direct and indirect government revenues resulting from tourism in the Town of Banff.
Town, CPR, Parks, RCMP and Mineral Springs Hospital to test emergency response plans through mock disaster on May 10

Banff, AB – Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, officials from the Town of Banff, Mineral Springs Hospital, Parks Canada, Canadian Pacific Railway and the Banff RCMP Detachment will participate in a mock disaster that will put the Town’s Emergency Operation Centre to work.
