Sharrows connect the streets of Banff to the Trans Canada Trail

Town staff recently installed shared right-of-way road markings, called sharrows, to help cyclists navigate easily through town between the Banff Legacy Trail and the Spray trailhead, effectively completing the gap in the Trans Canada Trail between its entry and exit points in Banff. The project was fully funded by Trans Canada Trail and the Alberta TrailNet Society.
Town Announces Official Election Results

The Town of Banff has announced the official results of the municipal election held Monday, October 18, 2010. Mayor Karen Sorensen was acclaimed, and six councillors were elected from the nine candidates running. 1619 voters cast their ballots.
Town Opposes the Decision to Close the Banff Court House

On August 9, Alberta Justice officially announced the closing of the Banff Court House - The Court House is scheduled to close operations effective December 31, 2010. The decision to close Banff’s only local Court House has been strongly opposed by both Town Council and the Banff RCMP detachment.

Banff Housing Corporation seeks input on price model for Peyto Place

The Banff Housing Corporation (BHC) has purchased ten apartment style housing units in Peyto Place (above Nesters) with the intent to provide a more diverse offering of value-priced housing in our community. Prior to introducing these units, the BHC is seeking resident input on a range of options they are considering regarding housing types and long-term housing costs.
