Election Results 2010

BANFF, ALBERTA —  The Town of Banff has announced the official results of the municipal election held Monday, Oct. 18. 
 
Nine candidates were in the race for six council positions.
 
The official results of the municipal election are:
 

• Mayor – Karen Sorensen
• Councillor –  Leslie Taylor with 1,138 votes
• Councillor –  Stavros Karlos with 1,063 votes
• Councillor –  Paul Baxter, with 890 votes
• Councillor – Chip (Cheryl) Olver, with 886 votes
• Councillor –  Brian Standish, with 786 votes
• Councillor –  Grant Canning, with 784 votes.

 
Elected as school trustees are:

• Sheila Snowsell, with 984 votes
• Kim Bater, with 921 votes
• Arelene Rheaume with 779 votes

The total number of residents casting a ballot was 1,619.
