Public members needed for Land Use Bylaw Review Working Group
Interested in the future of commercial development in Banff?
August 19, 2011...If you have an interest in commercial land use regulations in Banff,you may want to help Council find the best long-term solution to key issues.Council is seeking four members of public from Banff, who will join two councillors and five local stakeholder representatives to form a working group to discuss specific questions that have arisen as a result of proposals related to Phase II of the Town of Banff Land Use Bylaw Review/Update.
The working group is tasked with assisting administration in providing advice and recommendations to Council on the following issues:
- A proposal to reduce the number of permitted uses for Grocery Store and Service Station properties in Banff.
- A proposal to enact distinct regulations for formula fast food businesses in Banff.
- Providing feedback to Council on required housing and parking for commercial development in Banff.
Meetings will likely be held on one evening every second week from 7 to 9 p.m., beginning in September. The recommendations will be presented to Council by November 28.
