Commercial Water Meter Upgrading
The Town of Banff has contracted Neptune Technology Group (Canada) to replace and upgrade industrial, commercial and institutional water meters throughout Banff.
Neptune Technology will be performing this work between November 1 and December 1, 2009.
Neptune representatives will visit commercial establishments to inspect the current water meter before the upgrade takes place. Appointments for water meter installation can be made at that time.
Here are some of the benefits of the program:
reduced maintenance costs by replacing obsolete meters
upgrading reading capabilities with newer more efficient technology
ensures proper water meter application
reduced possibility of flooding due to old meter leakage
improve flow relative to demand
no charge for the replacement
What is involved?
A photo ID-carrying Neptune employee will perform the necessary work.
The replacement of the water meter will take approximately two to three hours. To assist with the efficient removal and replacement of your meter, Neptune Technology suggests that your maintenance staff remove all meter and valve insulation materials. In the case of asbestos insulation, please use proper removal and disposal procedures.
Neptune recognizes that water may be an essential requirement in your day to day activities and/or operations, but most change-outs can be conducted with uninterrupted water service. If a water interruption is required, Neptune will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to perform the replacement at your convenience. Arrangements for after hours replacements can be made with Neptune's inspection staff.
