Community Satisfaction Survey
The Community Satisfaction Survey is conducted every three years to measure community satisfaction with the programs, services and facilities offered by the Town of Banff.Council uses the information to help them set budget priorities and match programs, services and facilities with community needs.

Key Findings from 2010
In the majority of areas, the Town’s quality of service delivery is ranked higher than in 2007, which
was higher still than 2004.
The percentage of respondents who have rated their quality of life as good or very good has
increased over 2007 by nearly 5 percent:
- 2010 – 94% 2007 – 89.8% 2004 – 86.7%
The percentage of respondents who have rated the quality of service overall by the Town as good
or very good has increased by more than 9 percent:
- 2010 – 87% 2007 – 79.2% 2004 – 75.2%
The percentage of respondents who agree or strongly agree that the Town is quick to respond to
requests and concerns has increased over 2007 by 5 percent:
- 2010- 84% 2007 – 80% 2004 – 79.5%
The percentage of respondents who agree or strongly agree that Town staff is knowledgeable is
also up by 4.5 percent over 2007:
- 2010 – 92% 2007 – 88% 2004 – 87.8%
Respondents who say they receive good or very good value for their municipal tax dollars has
increased over 2007 by 25 percent:
- 2010 – 68% 2007 – 54% 2004 – 48.5%
Respondents had this to say about taxation levels:
- 36 percent of respondents would prefer the Town increase user fees to pay for expanded services if those services are necessary (up from 2007 at 28%).
- 33 percent of respondents feel tax rates should change with inflation to maintain the current level of services (down from 2007 at 40%).
- 6 percent of respondents feel the Town should cut services to reduce taxes (5% in 2007).
- 5 percent feel the Town should cut services to maintain the current level of taxation (7% in 2007).
- 86 percent of respondents say the Town should consider visitors’ needs in service and program delivery (not asked in 2007).
- 29 percent feel the Town should pick up the illegally dumped items more regularly.
- 23 percent feel the Town should maintain the current level of service (pick up as time permits).
- 28 percent feel the Town should educate the public more on how to properly and legally dispose of the items.
