Councillor Karlos has served on Town Council since 2007.  He was elected to his second term in October 2010.

Education & Work History

Stavros attended the Banff Elementary School and Banff Community High School.  He graduated in 2002 with a BA in Political Science from the University of Calgary.

Stavros has spent numerous years as a ski coach for the Bow Valley Quickies.  He has been an active part of Banff's outstanding food and beverage industry since the tender age of 12. Currently, Stavros owns and operates the Balkan the Greek Restaurant with his brother Yannis, sister Angela and mother Joanna.

Family & Personal Interests

Stavros is married to Dr. Samantha Frey ND.  His personal interests include technical mountain biking, downhill skiing, skating, hiking, plate smashing, traveling and of course cafeteria tray racing.  He loves exploring the mountains and strongly believes that Banff is one of the greatest places in the world.
