Land Rent
What council accomplished:
Negotiation with Parks Canada to eliminate the Town's land rent payment is underway. A response from Parks CO Allan Latourelle is required before negotiation can proceed.
A group of municipalities interested in seeking resort municipality status has formed, and a consultant is being engaged to prepare a briefing for the provincial government.

Banff refreshing
infrastructure and resurfacing on 100 and 200 blocks of Banff Avenue
What council accomplished:
The Banff refreshing construction project is on time and on budget. The roadway is scheduled to reopen on November 11.

What council accomplished:
As a result of the Banff Summitt held in May 2007, a regional transportation steering committee has formed to implement a regional transit system between Banff and outlying areas. A grant application to fund the initial set-up of the transit authority is being prepared.

The Banff Housing Corporation has set housing supply targets.
A letter of offer was sent to the RCMP with respect to member housing - a reply has not yet been received.

What council accomplished:
A 2007 Financial Plan was presented to Council on July 16, 2007.
Pedestrian Bridge
What council accomplished:
Council has approved the location and initial design of the bridge, and authorized detailed design to commence.
Recreation Centre
What council accomplished:
A community consultation process was implemented.
A preliminary environmental assessment for location options is underway.
An infrastructure grant application has been submitted to the provincial government.
