Recreation Programmer
You may recognize Kim Coultis around town playing softball, hiking local trails, or curling at the Recreation Centre. But did you know she is also the face behind the
Community Class Calendar
?
When Kim left her hometown of Owen Sound in the Fall of 1997, after graduating with a diploma in recreation and leisure services, she had no thought of making a permanent home in Banff. Like many other locals, Kim arrived here with little more than a backpack and a pair of skis. But after nearly 10 years in our community, she can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Kim started with the Town in 1998 as our facilities clerk. In 2005, she moved into the position of program coordinator, where she has been able to combine her passion for activities and lifelong learning with the structural knowledge of the Town she gained in her previous role.
Kim is in her element when creating and implementing programs for the community. From English as a second language, to fitness and first aid, Kim’s greatest satisfaction is “providing such unique programs and bringing them to the community.”
When she’s not meeting with instructors and developing new programs for the season, Kim likes to get out and enjoy everything the Bow Valley has to offer, whether on the trail, ice or the field.
