The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Department provides assistance to all Town staff and public when requested. This includes helping staff navigate through GIS systems, providing staff with GIS data and maps, and educating staff on the capabilities of GIS.
The Town of Banff's GIS Department currently supports an internal ArcGIS Server site which is used by all departments; Land Development Office (LDO) for Planning activities; Municipal Infrastructure Management System (MIMS) for Operational and Engineering Infrastructure management; and a robust ArcSDE geodatabase that feeds all these systems.
We work closely with Banff National Park's GIS Specialist and other local Bow Valley GIS professionals. We have access to plentiful resources and data to help meet your needs.
