2010 Operating Revenue
Operating revenues for 2010 are forecasted at $25.7 M. This is a 2.55% increase over the 2009 budget. Visit

About 63% of property taxes collected in 2010 will go towards the municipal budget - those are the dollars that show in the chart above.
36% of property taxes collected in 2010 will go to the province for education taxes. The remaining 1% goes to the Bow Valley Regional Housing Authority.
Municipal governments are not permitted to run a deficit.
In the case of a budget surplus, the surplus dollars are transferred to accounts like the capital reserves or the budget stabilization fund.
