Lodges & Inns
Lodges and inns tend to offer more intimate accommodations than hotels and motels, given their smaller size and, in the case of lodges, common rooms for socializing and relaxing.Inns operate much like hotels but are smaller in size and capacity, whereas lodges are detached buildings consisting of a group of single room units. Lodges generally feature a central, common area used for guest activities and/or relaxing. Several of these types of accommodations are available throughout the Bow Valley.
In Banff, inns and lodges are scattered throughout the townsite, and the Sunshine Village Inn is located at the base of the ski hill. In the Lake Louise area, Moraine Lake Lodge and Deer Lodge are popular choices. Along the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93 North) is the historic Simpson's Num-Ti-Ja Lodge.
