Chocolate & Sweets
Chocolates and sweets of all kinds are easy to locate in Banff: just follow your nose.Scattered up and down Banff Avenue are several local shops that specialize in freshly made chocolates, caramels, fudge and other sweets. It is not uncommon to see a small crowd gathered along the street, in front of the Fudgery or Mountain Chocolates, inhaling the sweet aroma and eyeing the candy-maker, spreading thick caramel with gusto.
Banff is also home to Bernard Callebaut Chocolates, created by the award-winning Belgian chocolatier of international acclaim, as well as Roger's Chocolates, a Canadian company offering exceptional chocolates.
For candies and other sweets, Welch's, the Banff Sweet Shoppe, and Sweets & Treats in Lake Louise carry huge selections of both packaged and bulk confections. Be prepared to stand in line, as these are highly popular with kids and adults alike.
Local and Canadian-themed candy and maple syrup can be found in most gift and souvenir shops as well as specialty stores.
