Parking in Banff
Love Banff? You're not alone. Banff is one of the world's top mountain destinations, so it gets busy, particularly in summer.
Parking is at a premium, particularly for larger vehicles such as buses and recreational vehicles (RVs) including motorhomes, campervans, campertrucks and tent trailers.
Street parking and municipal parking lots are free, but with time restrictions ranging from 15 minutes to three or five hours. Some parking areas cannot accommodate, and therefore prohibit, RVs. Watch where you park and when.
Town of Banff Bylaw Officers patrol the townsite and will warn owners or ticket vehicles improperly parked or parked beyond the time limit. This is to ensure a turnover in parking availability, and that roads and parking spots are not blocked by oversized vehicles.
Avoid a ticket and be sure to note the time and vehicle limits where you park.
