Finding Accommodation
Need some help finding accommodation in Banff?
Your best bet to get a feel for going rates and availability is to check out the local weekly newspaper, the
Crag and Canyon
.
If you're just here for a season, you will most likely be looking at a 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, or larger units, and renting with room mates. A good way to find a roommate if you are traveling alone is to post looking for a roommate at
Banff Life
, and in the laundromats and hostels.
Some helpful hints when looking for a place:
Dress up when you go to see the place… trust me on this one
Be prepared to sign a 6 month lease for the better places
Be honest about how long you will be staying… they’ve heard it all before
If you've lived anywhere else in the Bow Valley, bring references - this will set you apart from all the other hopeful renters
Average prices for places in Banff:
Renting a room: $600 and up + damage deposit (1 month rent)
