In efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19, starting November 27th, The Fenlands, 101 Bear and Town Hall will be closed to the public and in-person recreational programs have also been postponed, including those offered by our community partners at those sites. The Town had re-activated the www.banff.ca/active webpage which has up-to-date information and resources for the Banff Public Library, local online classes, ideas and activities to do outdoors with your family and more. 

The Town of Banff’s Out of School Club and Into the Wild afterschool childcare programs continue and are strictly adhering to provincial and municipal COVID-19 safety guidance.  In addition, our Settlement Services team continues to provide online and phone support for clients. Holistic Living Basic Series

Detoxification Made Easy
Learn easy ways to promote gentle detoxification after the holiday season without complicated, restrictive protocols. We will learn easy-to-make recipes and routines that are simple to incorporate throughout the year. Ages 16+.

Winter Paint Night
Bring the season to life on canvas with a whimsical snowscape. Working with acrylic paints this session is guided with step by step instructions. A perfect evening to reconnect with your creative spirit and have a fun night out. No previous painting experience is necessary to join, making it ideal for beginners. All art material is included with a take home canvas.
 Ages 16+.

Zero Waste

Zero Waste & Plant-Based 
Join us for this unique health series, as we teach you how zero waste living and plant-based cooking go hand-in-hand. This journey will take you on a 4 week exploration to help nourish yourself and the planet with delicious and easy plant-based recipes, plus tips to lighten your environmental footprint by moving toward zero waste at home. Each cooking class will include cooking demos, recipe handouts and zero waste lifestyle hacks. The two other classes will help solidify the teachings into daily life with easy weekly challenges, and provide practical tips in the kitchen to help you incorporate more plant-based foods in your day. By the end, you can expect to know not only how to eat healthier, but how to live healthier, be happier, and have greater resiliency, as you align more deeply with our beautiful planet.  Ages 16+

Zero Waste Trail Sustainable Living Series

Banff is a model environmental community where everything we do is guided by a goal to preserve this special place. Reducing and diverting Banff residential waste going to landfill is a community goal that will benefit future generations, and we need everyone on board to make it happen. 

The Bear Minimum & Town of Banff have teamed up to offer sustainable living workshops.  These fun and interactive workshops will explore different ways to get on the Zero Waste Trail through reducing your own waste footprint at home. Please see below for a brief overview of what you will learn in each workshop!
