Babysitting care giving skills for youth 11 - 17 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. This is a Red Cross program.
Students will learn:
- How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership
- How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours
- Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage
- How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies
- How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours
- First aid skills
- The business of babysitting

Youth Art In-Person
These art sessions are based on using acrylic paints as a primary medium. Exploring landscapes, abstract and multimedia design students will learn valuable techniques that they can apply to their canvases and create stunning works of art. Open to all genders and abilities. Ages 10 - 17.

Skills & Drills Sessions
If your teenager is excited to get back into sports and wants to work on their fitness and skill development, then have them join the Town’s Sports Skills & Drills sessions. These sessions will have your teen get active and fine tune their skills. Individual drill sessions and play will help bring their game to the next level. All genders and abilities.

Drop-in Rise & Shine
Outdoor summer sports and activities based out of the Rec Grounds. Check the monthly calendar for July to see when Adventure or Activity Days and sport sessions are happening. We have several hours a day for practicing your favorite sports and going out exploring, all summer long. For all genders and abilities. Ages 10-13 (Grades 5-8).
