The Town of Banff is constructing a Pavilion at the Banff Recreation Grounds (‘A’ on the map). This accessible building will have a public indoor and outdoor gathering area with washrooms and bookable outdoor BBQ, showers and kitchenette for community events and user groups.
The Pavilion is currently under construction and completion is expected in the spring of 2023, with landscaping completed in the summer. The Pavilion is the first building to be built under the Town’s updated Municipal Sustainable Building Policy. It will be the most energy efficient building in the community, and is targeting certification under the Passive House Low Energy Building standard.
The Pavilion will provide a summer outdoor gathering area and winter skating rink. Construction is expected to be done by summer 2023. The rink is scheduled to go in the fall of 2023/winter 2024.
