Santa's Anonymous is looking for board members
For 27 years the Santa's Anonymous Christmas Hamper campaign has been a cherished food security program in the communities of Banff and Lake Louise. Supported by locals, businesses, and community organizations alike, it has traditionally been coordinated and organized by a very small committee of volunteers. Last year's campaign was the biggest and most successful ever!
It is now time to scale up this grassroots operation into a formalized non-profit. If you are a planner, a strategic thinker, like to see results and have a passion for building community, we would like to hear from you.
Positions include: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications and Members at Large. Time commitment in 2019 will average 10 hours per month from June onwards, with an expected reduction in 2020 once the non-profit organization is established. Ideally, we are looking for people who can commit to a two year term, who preferably live in Banff or Lake Louise.
If you would like to share your time and talent with this valued community organization, please email your resume by Thursday, May 23.
Santa's Anonymous 2019 applications will be available in November.
HOW TO DONATE:
- Financial donations (charitable receipt will be issued) can still be made at the front counter at Banff Town Hall.
- "Giving Trees" – tags with gift wishes from kids and seniors, will be in the following locations in Banff:
- All bank locations
- Banff Dentistry Office, 317 Banff Avenue
Community members take a tag, buy the gift, and return it wrapped to the location on the tag by the deadline date (all instructions are on the tag). The last day to take a tag is December 12, and the last day to drop off a gift is December 14.
