Banff Town Council
Banff Town Council is one of only two elected councils inside of a national park, (Jasper also has a town council), and consists of one mayor and six councillors. Banff Viewpoints Public Input
We want your viewpoints to help make Banff better. The Viewpoints Online Panel is a convenient way for you to provide input when you want and how you want. By registering we will send you notification of new online consultation projects and updates on how your input is used.

Budget & Finance
Budgets are set annually by Council. The operating budget, funded by property tax, user fees and development cost charges, includes all revenue and expenditures for the Town. The capital budget, which is funded by various reserves, outlines the planned infrastructure improvements or capital projects for the next 10 years.

Bylaws and Policies
Town of Banff municipal bylaws, policies and procedures are available online for review. In some cases, public feedback will be sought on draft policies prior to going before town council.

Election
The Town of Banff Municipal Election is on October 18, 2021. Nominations are accepted from January 1, 2021 until noon, September 20, 2021.

Major Projects
The Town's goal is to plan, provide and reinvest in the infrastructure that meets future needs of residents and visitors. Infrastructure includes water and sanitary pipes, storm water pipes, roads, sidewalks, trails and pathways, parks and forests, and facilities. As a global tourism destination, and a national park community, we must build and maintain infrastructure that meets the highest environmental standards.

Check out the Town's interactive Open Data Catalogue modeled after existing, successful Canadian Open Data catalogues. This catalogue allows you to search for and view existing Open Data sets. You can view tabular data, download data to Excel, view data on a map or view data in Google Earth. Application developers can connect directly to the Open Data sets and use them as data ‘feeds’ or sources for their applications.
