  1. MountainLIFE - Healy Pass Hike

    On this day trip you and other Banff locals will join a certified guide and steadily climb through a forest of larches full of wildflowers. As you approach the pass the trail's landscape opens up to reveal views of beautiful mountain lakes and surrounding peaks. The hike is 18.3 km and has an elevation of 355 m. This program is being generously supported by the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation.

  2. Blended Emergency First Aid

    This Red Cross blended learning first aid program is a combination of in-class and online instruction led by a certified Red Cross instructor. First aid theory is covered in the online instruction and skill development and theory application in the in-class instruction. This basic course offers an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home, meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Open to all genders and abilities.

  5. MountainLIFE - Mount Temple Scramble

    Heading out early for this day trip you, other locals and a certified guide will summit one of the highest peaks in our area. The day starts with a walk along Moraine Lake followed by some inclines up and into the Larch Valley, then up again to Sentinel Pass. From there you will make you way to the summit of Mount Temple where your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and lakes far below.   6. BanffLIFE - Via Ferrata

    With a guide, you and other Banffites will harness up and climb the 180 m Via Ferrata on Mt. Stelfox in the David Thompson Corridor. As you climb you will be safely attached to the iron cable and rock bolts on this beautiful route! This trip is a fun way to safely explore the mountains and it has spectacular views of Abraham Lake.     In this one-day course you will learn the basics of outdoor rock climbing with the help of an ACMG certified guide in a small group setting. In the hands-on course you will learn how to use various rock climbing gear, ropes and belay systems.     In this 90 minute workshop, Lorraine Widmer-Carson, author and Founder of Grassroots Gratitude, will introduce her perspectives on a regular writing habit, growing a gratitude practice in community and the importance of the pause - especially when the pause is spent in nature. She will read from her book An Ecology of Gratitude: Writing Your Way to What Matters and invite participants to dig into their own creative wells of inspiration.
