The Town of Banff’s Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) continues to redistribute critical equipment contributed from local businesses to essential services, such as the Mineral Springs Hospital, RCMP and several critical organizations. The ECC is calling on institutions and businesses that may have reduced operations due to the COVID-19 crisis to provide personal protective equipment and cleaning products to ensure backup supplies are available to support the community.
“It is so great to see the corporate community come together during this difficult time,” said Chief Silvio Adamo, Director of Emergency Operations. “We thank everyone who has been able to offer support and we would like to urge any other businesses to see if they have resources to help maintain continuity of service for emergency and essential services.”
Contact the Emergency Resource Coordinator (resource.help@banff.ca or via the online form) to identify any supplies that can be contributed by sale or by donation.
Priority items needed include:
- Hand sanitizer
- Cleaning supplies
- Gloves
- Medical masks
- N95 respirators
- Gowns/scrubs
- Eye protection
The Town is also seeking information about special services that businesses are offering, such as food take-out or delivery, to help promote to the community on banff.ca/COVIDhelp.
Businesses and institutions are asked to contribute information about community needs and opportunities, and identify any services they want promoted by submitting to: bit.ly/ResourceCoordination or by emailing resource.help@banff.ca.
