[ARCHIVED] Situation Update #11

BANFF AB 10 p.m. - The reception centre for displaced Banff residents at the Banff High School closes at 10 p.m.

Those who require alternative accommodation should go call 403.760.2423 to register and for assistance.

Rocky Mountain Cooperative Housing Phases 1 and 2 at 100 Birch Street have been evacuated.

The Flood Warning for Town of Banff is still in effect. Low lying areas are experiencing high water and overland flooding. Please obey all road, trail and pathway closures. STAY AWAY FROM THE RIVER. Birch Ave, Bow Falls Road and Bow Ave remain closed until further notice.

The Town is working with Parks Canada and suppliers to arrange fuel shipment Saturday for local stations.

The Town will confirm Roam service between Canmore and Banff for employees/residents stranded in either community after 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Highway and road status has not changed. The Trans Canada Highway east of Banff remains CLOSED. It is expected that only limited access will be provided to food delivery trucks with valid Town of Banff permits, emergency services vehicles and the Roam transit bus Saturday. Visitors travelling east are asked to stay in Banff.

The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy #1) is open in both directions between Golden and Banff to private passenger vehicles and tour buses ONLY.

The next update will be at 8 a.m. June 22 or when conditions change, whichever comes first.

Situation Update #10
Banff AB 6:45 p.m. Depending on highway conditions, Roam transit service between Banff and Canmore will continue on Saturday. Departure times will be posted after 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Water levels remain high. Please obey all road and pathway closure signs. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE RIVER!

The highway status remains unchanged.

Currently we have no need for volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has inquired.

Next update when conditions change, or 8 am, whichever comes first.
