Albertans who have been affected by flooding and require assistance should register with the Canadian Red Cross. You may be eligible for Red Cross emergency services and Government of Alberta assistance.

Local Donations:
The Canmore Rotary Club Charitable Foundation has established a Flood Relief Fund to support those affected by flooding in Canmore, the MD of Bighorn, Kananaskis and Morley.
There are several ways to donate:
• The Club will accept donations at the Canada Day breakfast in Canmore at Centennial Park and whenever possible at other events in the Bow Valley.
• Bow Valley Credit Union will accept your donations.

Roads update from Parks Canada
Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A):
The 1A is now open from its east entrance at the Trans-Canada Highway (near Banff) for 28 km to the Storm Mountain Viewpoint* and from its west entrance at Whitehorn Road (near Lake Louise) for 12 km to Baker Creek Chalets. *NOTE: It is still NOT possible to drive or cycle the full length of the Parkway as the road remains impassable at the Baker Creek bridge. Access to Baker Creek Chalets and points west is via Whitehorn Road.
Johnston Canyon TRAIL is now open. Johnston Canyon CAMPGROUND will open tomorrow (Friday) at 8 a.m.
Please drive and cycle with care -- Be extra vigilant for wildlife, and be aware that there is still a lot of water flowing on the landscape.
The Bow Valley Parkway may be subject to some flooding near Fireside Day Use Area. The Fireside road, picnic area and trailhead have experienced extensive damage and remain closed.
Vermilion Lakes Road:
The Vermillion Lakes Road is now open. The Legacy Trail WEST of Banff (connector to the Bow Valley Parkway) is also open.
CYCLISTS PLEASE NOTE: The Legacy Trail EAST of Banff (between Banff and the park's East Gate) remains CLOSED.
For safety reasons, cyclists are NOT allowed on the section of the Trans-Canada Highway between Banff and Canmore at this time, and the Legacy Trail beside the Highway in this same area is closed. To travel between Banff and Canmore cyclists must take the Roam Regional Transit (see schedule at www.banff.ca/roam or www.roamtransit.com).
TRAIL USERS PLEASE NOTE: Backcountry trails may have unmarked hazards: trail damage, washouts, missing bridges, and weak creek banks. Extra caution is advised.
