[ARCHIVED] TSN Skins Curling returns to The Fenlands

Canada’s top curlers return to Banff January 16 to 18, 2015 for the annual Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins game at The Fenlands, including Sochi 2014 Olympic Gold Medallists Brad Jacobs and Jennifer Jones, and Mike McEwen’s 2014 Canada Cup-winning team.

“Our team is absolutely thrilled to compete in the TSN skins event,” said McEwen. “We are going to relish the opportunity to play and entertain fans in such an exciting format. We can’t wait to join the rest of the teams in Banff.”

Team McEwen will replace Team Glenn Howard, who will remain in Ontario to compete in the Challenge Round for a spot in the Ontario Tankard. McEwen’s wife Dawn is lead on the Jones’ rink.

With $100,000 prize money up for grabs, the event promises to be the most exciting curling of the season. And you can be there. A few tickets are still available for all draws, including the men’s and women’s finals, Sunday, January 18.

Tickets can be purchased at The Banff Centre box office, online or by telephone at 1-800-413-8368. Tickets must be purchased in advance; they are not for sale at the door. Accommodation and ticket packages are also available for out-of-town guests from the RimRock Resort Hotel at 1-888-746-7625.

A free shuttle will run every 20 minutes from downtown Banff to The Fenlands for ticket holders and volunteers; there’s no parking at The Fenlands except for those with valid handicap permits. Parking is available at the train station and the Banff Elementary School. It’s a five-minute walk from these areas to The Fenlands. Or use banffparking.ca, mobile friendly website, for directions to all the downtown parking lots and grab the shuttle at the corner of Wolf Street and Banff Avenue.

Because the event is televised live across the TSN network, ticket holders are asked to be in their seats 30 minutes before the match begins for the pre-game show. Access to seats will be limited once the show begins, and latecomers will have to wait for a commercial break to be seated.
