[ARCHIVED] Annual road repaving project begins June 16

Annual road repaving begins Thursday, June 16, with the milling of roads. Paving will start the following day on Friday, June 17. This project will take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Each spring, the Town of Banff repaves several streets, removing the top layer of asphalt and then repaving roads to create a smooth driving surface.

The following roads will receive new asphalt:

Moose Street from Banff Avenue to Grizzly Street
Banff Avenue from the bridge to Buffalo Street
Muskrat Street from Buffalo Street to Caribou Street
Bear Street from Buffalo Street to Caribou Street
Hidden Ridge Way From Tunnel Mountain road to Hidden Ridge
Tunnel Mountain Drive from Tunnel Mountain Road to the Tunnel Mountain reservoir

Since all work is weather dependent, times and dates cannot be confirmed.

During the repaving process:

- Crews will remove barricades when it is safe to use the street again
- Expect minor delays
- Please do not approach work sites or attempt to cross newly paved streets. New pavement is extremely hot and heavy machines are difficult to stop
- No Parking signs will be put up 72 hours prior to the work beginning
